Yes, that is a feather! I always wash the eggs very well before cracking or boiling as the shells commonly have feathers and dirt on them. Or I think it's dirt ;).
The yellows are very yellow/orange sometimes...it's probably explained on the pkg but I don't know that much Hungarian yet. Also I always crack into a bowl so I can dig out shell fragments. Not sure why, but little pieces seem to always seem to make it into the bowl. Maybe because they are more organic? Are US eggshells fortified to not shatter like this? hmmm
